Mvt: Running, hacking function not operating as wire component comes no where close to contacting escapement, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered micro-fine scratches, some areas of haze to gilt surfaces, dial with hls between 7 and center; excellent hands; outer case shows light wear, scattered dings and mild dents, button latch good; inner case shows light wear, circumferential denting, some mild scattered dings elsewhere; tight bow; good domed glass bull's-eye crystal.
EPW - M.I. Tobias & Co, Liverpool, lever fusee, 56mm, heavy 14K gold or better (tested, with fade of 18K solution on stone and no fade of 14K solution) OF original cases with misleading crowned 18 marking, bearing Chester hallmarks for 1837, incuse "T.H J.H" marking for casemaker Thomas and John Helsby, off-white enamel dial, KWKS, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with diamond endstone, gilt mvt with gilt locking dust-cap, s#2961 with matching serial number within inner case. Gross weight of assembled watch 100.5 dwt (156.3 g).
