Mvt: Running, a bit stiff to wind, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine scratches, gilt tone with some cloudiness around central portion of barrel bridge, few scattered specks of oxide to regulator assembly; dial with circular fracture at 12:30 with fractured segment possibly secured by glue, additional associated hls surrounding this fracture at 12:30, few scattered extremely faint hls present elsewhere, faint "ghost" trace of the personalization "H.G." visible in the glaze at certain lighting angles indicating this was likely once overpainted onto the dial surface before being cleaned away at a later time; fine hands, hour with oxide; case shows light wear, few scuffs to rear and bezel, few dents and pinprick nicks to rear center, grouping of pinprick nicks to bezel at 11; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; glass crystal with few tiny nicks near center.

St. Louis, MO" marked mvt, "Mermod Jaccard & Co, St. Louis" marked dial, 18S, HC model mvt in sidewinder orientation in nickel OF recase, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#25017. Hamilton's 11 jewel movements are very rare and come in four variants with open face and hunting case versions of both gilt finish and nickel damascene finish. Total production of this gilt hunting case version is estimated to be only 100 made, while total production of all four variants combined is estimated to be only 314 made. This example is listed in the Hamilton factory ledger as having been sold on December 21st, 1896 to Mermod Jaccard & Co. of St. Louis, Missouri and is from a group of 20 consecutive serial numbers (25001 to 25020) that are listed as being sold to this firm during December of 1896.
